SanDisk Extreme Team – Week On Facebook

I have been a user of SanDisk memory cards for a very long time and a proud member of the Extreme Team for many years…A while back they asked me some questions about some of my favorite images and I can’t even remember the answers at this point but I thought I would post them to my blog as well as they appear. Now’s a good time to ask any questions about memory cards in the comments below and I’ll do my best to reply with an answer as soon as I can.

Welcome back to #SanDiskBehindTheLens! For a week at a time we will meet one photographer from the SanDisk Extreme Team, and get a behind-the-scenes look into some of their favourite images from their portfolio.

This month we caught up with The Passionate Photographer – Steve Simon to get an insight into his work. We will be showcasing and discussing his images each day this week so check back to see more.

“I was walking back to my hotel and as I passed this bar I quietly took this image of a woman nursing her beer. I thought it captured a mood and feeling I sometimes encountered there… (and everywhere).”

“It was shot on a street corner and I love shooting the old cars in Havana. I am always interested in seeing who is inside, which is why I often get in closer. I like staying in one place and letting the images come to me. I shot a few cycles of cars waiting for the light to change but this shot was my favourite.”

“I love the atmosphere and mood of the night in Havana. There is jubilation, laughter and fun but there are also quiet moments that I find I’m most drawn to, like this musician on the Prado.”
